Trimay Wear Resistant Overlay Steel Plate
RANGE SUMMARY The Trimay range of overlays for steel plate has been specifically designed to maximize resistance to the most common wear problems encountered in aggressive service environments. Trimay plates are available in a range of overlay thicknesses and base plate combinations carefully selected to offer cost effective solutions to the damage caused by wear through abrasion or erosion across a range industries. Deposited using the submerged arc process, Trimay overlays are distinguished by a wide and smooth bead shape with a clearly defined and well developed pattern of stress cracking. This confers outstanding all-round resistance to wear. All Trimay's wear resistant plate is manufactured under strict quality control systems. As part of the Company's commitment to adding value through service Trimay also offers in-house profiling and fabrication of its wear resistant plate as either liners or complete structures. In addition, Trimay can provide a custom hardfacing service to protect or refurbish a wide range of wearing components including rolls. Trimay Alloy Overlays Nominal compositions for as deposited alloy overlays Below is a summary of Trimay's alloy range showing the nominal composition of the overlay as deposited. More detailed information with compositions and hardness for single and second layer overlays is available on request. T156-High Chromium Iron (Hyper Eutectic) Developed for applications combining moderate to high abrasion with moderate to high impact conditions, this alloy overlay can be used continuously at temperatures of up to 450°C (840°F) and is unaffected by periodic short exposure up to about 650°C (1200°F).
T157-High Chromium Iron (Hyper Eutectic) This overlay alloy provides high abrasion resistance under low to moderate impact conditions.
T45-High Chromium Iron with Niobium (Nb or Cb) and Vanadium (Hyper Eutectic) An alloy overlay with high resistance to abrasion in low impact conditions. This overlay plate is normally produced with a high temperature, creep resistant, base place and is suitable for continuous exposure at temperatures 450°C ( 840°F) up to a maximum 650°C (1200°F).
T164-Tungsten Carbide and complex Fe-Cr-W Carbides in a martensitic matrix Alloy with extreme wear resistance for low impact applications.
Single run only (6mm max.) T165-Mixed Tungsten Carbides and Eutectic Chromium Carbides Intermediate alloy between the straight chromium carbides and tungsten carbide alloys. Good wear resistance for moderate impact applications.
Double layer possible. Single layer deposit can be rolled/pressed within limitations.
*HRC is Rockwell C Hardness
