Abrasion HomeAbrasion
We manufacture a comprehensive range of wear-resistant overlays for steel plates using our proprietary Bulkweld process. The properties of these different overlay compositions and substrates have been engineered to provide extended service life at ambient and elevated temperatures in aggressive environments involving abrasion, erosion and impact.

| Why we're different |
Why We're Different
Triten Alloy Product Group’s history is rich with innovation. In 1961, founder Roman Arnoldy invented the Bulkweld process. This paved the way for a more efficient, less costly means of applying wear protection to pipes, valves, rolls and other metal components that are subjected to rigorous wear.
In 1965, we revolutionized the production of hardfaced plate, a product that helped industrial refineries process raw materials faster and reduce wear and tear on equipment. Using the Bulkweld process, we manufactured hardfaced plate nearly three times faster than using conventional welding techniques.
In 1972, we manufactured the first fabricated slide valve to improve flow control of heavy, abrasive materials. In the 1980s, we invented a number of alloys, including T-211, T-233 and T-282. Each of these high-endurance alloys helped customers improve productivity and reduce maintenance costs associated with industrial wear and tear.
In 1999, we developed an elbow overlay applicator that is calibrated to adjust to bends or diversions within a pipe. This innovation offers major improvements in application efficiency and quality. We also designed an overlay machine that applies hardfacing to small-diameter pipe. This machine can accommodate internally hardfaced pipe with a minimum internal bore diameter of 4 inches and maximum pipe lengths of 20 feet.
This provides our customers with longer-lasting, more cost-effective pipe for transporting abrasive materials through either pneumatic or hydraulic pipe conveying systems.

To meet the increasing demand for hardfaced small-diameter pipe, we’ve improved the capacity of pipe overlay machines in our Houston facility, making it easier for us to manufacture and ship orders of multiple lengths of hardfaced pipe. Our commitment to product research and developing new formulas and manufacturing processes has never wavered. We hold over 60 U.S. and international patents. We can research and customize alloy mixes at the point of fabrication.
